New Year's Resolutions and The Rest of the Story

New Year’s Resolutions:

10: Learn to play at least one Wii game successfully.
9: Win $1,000.000 on “Are You Smarter Than a Fifth-grader?” (the PC game)
8. Work on my novel.
7. Read more good books.
6. Do more Bible study—sermon preparation.
5. Finish my autobiography this winter.
4. Exercise regularly.
3. Read my Bible more.
2. Spend more time in prayer.
And my #1 New’ Year’s Resolution is:
Get a job!

And now, the rest of the story!

On Monday, December 22 at the end of my shift at the group home I was asked to come in to the main office. There I was handed my “walking papers.” It was just a few days before the end of my three month probation and the leadership decided they did not need me. What a total surprise? And I was getting to really enjoy this job!
Christmas was a little subdued for me. It wasn't helped by the fact that I had a flu bug for a couple of days. But Jon flew out from Vancouver and that was a very bright spot in our holiday time. He was here for over a week and it was so enjoyable to have him with us.

So I’ve spent much of the holidays mulling over a lot of things. Jehovah-Jireh will supply. How? I don’t have a clue. In fact, I don’t know what direction my working career should be taking. In the mean time I watch, wait, and pray. And ,oh yes, work on my New Year’s Resolutions!

Global Warming?

Its -35 C this morning. (30 below F). I see most of North America is experiencing colder than normal weather. And I'm sure you've heard of the power outages in the eastern States. But don't dispair. The foreast is for progressively warmer weather. We could all use a little "global warming" about now. And we can probably expect a baby boom in September!
