"Captain Ron" practicing another kind of marksmanship. The rifle is Grandpa Smith's. So was the haircut. Ron asked him for "the shave." This picture was taken about six years ago on "Eight Mile Road" behind Grandpa's (now Sherry and Andy's) home. The tatoo is a styalized cross Ron designed himself. Posted by Hello

What was he hunting? Bear, squirrel or rabbit? He looks kamakazi? Sure am glad I didn't walk around the corner at that moment.Haircut is interesting.

Did he get a "scope ring"? (You know...that nice, little round bruise mark when from the rifle's kick-back?) I saw that interesting addition to my daughter's face once when her grampa took her shooting.

Nope, no "scope ring!" We were target practicing just past a locked gate so Grandpa Smith thought no one was out there. But a truck came down the trail and stopped real fast when he saw us. No problems, thank the Lord.

I remember going target shooting up Eight Mile many a time over the years. In fact, this particular scene looks so familiar. I'm wondering if I was there--or perhaps I was there for another scene that looked just like it. It's funny--"going up Eight Mile" always meant going shooting to me, growing up. Now I have a good friend that lives on Eight Mile and I go there for an entirely different reason.
